Conor O’Brien (Villagers) a signé la chanson Apollo House, dont le titre fait référence au bâtiment réquisitionné en décembre par le mouvement Home Sweet Home pour y abriter des sans-abris. Une belle balade folk pour la bonne cause.

Le 15 décembre dernier, le collectif Home Sweet Home réquisitionnait  le Apollo House Building, un immeuble vide situé dans le centre ville de Dublin, pour y abriter une trentaine de sans-abris. Conor O’Brien de Villagers n’a pas eu à chercher très loin pour trouver le titre de sa nouvelle chanson, belle et politique, en soutien au mouvement. Les paroles ne peuvent pas être plus claires …

D’autres artistes, Glen Hansard ou Damien Dempsey en tête, ont été très actifs pour faire plier les autorités, peu enclines à accéder aux demandes du collectif. Par exemple, Lisa Hannigan a donné toutes les recettes du téléchargement de sa version live de Silent night.
